Trying To Look Like Jesus

What a summer! So much better than last summer when we were contending with termites, renos, intruders 😔and yellow jackets:( This summer was relaxing and fun. We went to the beach a couple times; even got the kids to go!  And we took an unforgettable trip to Bushkill Falls, the Niagra falls of Pennsylvania:) I almost died because we went clockwise on the trial which caused me to climb 1,267 steps! But it was a super fun trip. Earlier that month Brooke and Mike ran his first Spartan Race. They had a blast!      They did really well and ran in just over two hours. Then the following month it was time to go to West Virginia.  I didn't realize it but we hadn't been there since 2014 when Brooke first moved out there! I can't even get over how quickly time goes! It's been almost a year since I've blogged and so much has happened. This year my mom finally surrendered and took part in believer's baptism. I prayed nine years for that. She is finally reaping the joy that comes with obedience! Although just as with her salvation, satan was fighting hard for this to not happen. Just a few months before, a very dear friend of mine and her family left the church I go to. I was devastated. After surrendering to the Lord to be more faithful last summer, my convictions were tested with this. I was once again sad, depressed and had one foot out the door. I just couldn't take it anymore! I wanted to leave but God said, "No".  I had to stay faithful, but why? A few months later I would find out why faithfulness and being in my place is so important.
